Our Approach

Holistic and Personalized Acupuncture Care

At Acupuncture for Balanced Wellness, we believe good healthcare begins by looking at the whole person. Symptoms rarely exist in isolation. Pain, digestion, sleep, stress, hormones, energy, nutrition, movement, and emotional well-being can all influence how we feel and how well our bodies function.

Our approach combines the time-tested principles of acupuncture and Chinese medicine with modern, evidence-informed healthcare. Rather than simply asking where does it hurt?, we want to understand the bigger picture - what may be contributing to your symptoms, what is keeping your body from functioning at its best, and what we can do to help restore balance.

Acupuncture at the Center of Care

Acupuncture remains at the heart of what we do.

Traditional Chinese Medicine views health as a state of dynamic balance. When that balance is disrupted, symptoms can emerge in seemingly unrelated areas of the body. Acupuncture is used to influence these patterns and support the body's natural regulatory and healing processes.

Modern research provides another way of understanding many of acupuncture's effects, including its influence on the nervous system, pain signaling, circulation, muscle tension, and inflammatory processes.

We value both perspectives. Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a sophisticated whole-body framework developed over thousands of years, while modern science continues to expand our understanding of how acupuncture affects human physiology.

Your Treatment Should Be as Individual as You Are

Two people can walk into our clinic with the same diagnosis and receive very different treatments.

That's because we don't treat diagnoses alone - we treat people.

Your acupuncturist considers your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, stress, sleep, digestion, energy, and other factors that may be relevant to your health. From there, we develop an individualized acupuncture treatment plan and adjust it as your needs change.

Depending on the situation, your treatment may also incorporate techniques such as electroacupuncture, cupping, gua sha, bodywork, heat therapy, or other complementary therapies.

The goal is not to follow a predetermined protocol. It's to determine what makes the most sense for you.

Looking Beyond Symptoms

Sometimes acupuncture is exactly what a patient needs. Other times, lasting improvement requires looking beyond the treatment table.

Nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, metabolic health, digestive function, and other lifestyle factors can have a profound effect on how we feel. When appropriate, we help patients identify practical changes that can complement their acupuncture treatments and support better long-term health.

Our expanding Functional Medicine services allow us to take this deeper for patients who want a more comprehensive evaluation, particularly for concerns involving metabolic health, digestive health, hormones, and chronic inflammation.

Integrative wellness

Integrative Care, Not Either-Or Care

Natural healthcare and conventional medicine don't have to compete.

Acupuncture can often work alongside medical treatment, physical therapy, fertility care, medications, and other forms of healthcare. We encourage patients to maintain appropriate medical care and believe the best approach is often one in which different therapies complement one another.

Our role is not to replace your physician or promise a cure. It is to offer another valuable perspective and help you build a thoughtful, individualized plan for feeling and functioning better.

Helping You Restore Balance

Ultimately, our philosophy comes back to the idea behind our name: Acupuncture for Balanced Wellness.

We want to do more than temporarily quiet symptoms. Whenever possible, we want to understand the factors contributing to them and support the body's ability to regulate and recover. We strive to not only provide effective acupuncture treatments, but also give patients practical tools they can use beyond the acupuncture treatment room.

Whether you're seeking relief from pain, support for infertility, support through a stressful period, help with a chronic health concern, or simply want to feel and function better, our goal is the same: Meet you where you are, understand the whole picture, and help your body move toward better balance.
