Affordable Acupuncture in Chicago
At Acupuncture for Balanced Wellness, we believe high-quality acupuncture should also be accessible. Our goal is to provide experienced, individualized acupuncture care in Chicago at reasonable rates so that cost doesn't become an unnecessary barrier to receiving the care you need.
We work with many major insurance plans that include acupuncture benefits and also offer affordable self-pay options for patients who don't have acupuncture coverage or prefer not to use insurance.
Insurance Coverage for Acupuncture
Acupuncture is covered by a growing number of health insurance plans, but benefits vary considerably from one policy to another. Some plans provide broad acupuncture coverage, while others may limit coverage to certain conditions or a specific number of visits each year.
Our Chicago acupuncture clinic is in network with a number of major insurance networks, including:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- UnitedHealthcare / Optum
- Aetna
- Veterans Community Care Network
- Meritain Health
- UMR
Coverage is determined by your individual insurance plan. Being in network with an insurance company does not necessarily mean that your particular policy includes acupuncture benefits, so it is important to verify benefits beforehand.
We currently do not accept HMO plans or Medicaid.
We Can Help Check Your Acupuncture Benefits
Insurance policies can be confusing, so we're happy to help determine whether your plan includes acupuncture coverage.
When verifying benefits, some of the important questions include:
Does my plan cover acupuncture?
Are acupuncture benefits limited to certain medical conditions?
How many acupuncture visits are allowed each year?
Do I have a deductible, and how much has been met?
What is my copayment or coinsurance?
Are my benefits different for in-network and out-of-network acupuncture providers?
When eligible, our office can submit acupuncture claims directly to your insurance company. Your insurance company ultimately determines coverage and payment, and patients are responsible for charges not covered by their plan.

Self-Pay Acupuncture Rates
Don't have acupuncture insurance coverage? You can still receive care at our Chicago clinic at affordable self-pay rates.
We intentionally keep our self-pay acupuncture pricing reasonable because many conditions benefit from a series of treatments. Our goal is to make it easier for patients to receive an appropriate frequency of care without compromising the quality or individualized attention they receive.

Chicago Acupuncture
Quality Acupuncture Care at an Accessible Price
We've been providing acupuncture in the Chicago Loop since 2008, and accessibility has always been an important part of our practice.
Whether you're using insurance or paying out of pocket, you'll receive the same individualized attention from our experienced, licensed acupuncturists. We don't believe affordable acupuncture should mean rushed appointments or one-size-fits-all treatment.
